Supervised Contact

*Currently Accepting Referrals *

Supervised Contact is usually required when there are concerns that a child is at risk of harm and safety measures need to be put in place, such as a Contact Supervisor being present. Supervised Contact may also be beneficial when there has been a substantial period of time where children have not seen family members and this will assist to re-build relationships, with the additional reassurance that a Supervisor can bring for everyone.

During Supervised Contact, one of our Supervisors will observe the entire contact, to allow the child to spend quality time and maintain a positive relationship with their family member whilst ensuring they remain safe at all times. As well as observe, our Supervisors are also there to assist and support you if required. How much you interact with your Supervisor during contact is entirely your choice, however they do have a duty of care to intervene if it is felt necessary.

As well as observing the contact, our Supervisors may also make notes during the session and complete a factual report after each session, if this has been requested and all parties will receive a copy of this report, typically within 5 working days.

Wherever possible, we encourage contact to be activity-based or to take place out in the community to give the child a sense of normality. However, we also recognise that this is not always possible and that a dedicated room is sometimes required. The location of contact will be determined  by all parties prior to contact taking place. Please note, should a room be required, this will be at an additional cost however Connections will arrange this for you.

We encourage families to bring whatever toys, activities and games that they wish.

Prices are listed in our referral form under the 'Make a Referral' section of our website.
